South America

Brazil (parts) Chile Paraguay Uruguay

Notes: In South America, DST schedules vary between countries, with dates typically reversed from the Northern Hemisphere due to the Southern Hemisphere's opposite seasons. Brazil only applies DST in its southern states. Some South American countries have abolished DST in recent years, including Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru.

Middle East

Iran Israel Jordan Lebanon Palestine Syria

Notes: Middle Eastern countries often have unique DST schedules that can change yearly. Iran follows a different calendar system for its time changes. Israel's DST schedule is sometimes adjusted for religious observances. Several countries in the region have abandoned DST in recent years, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.

Asia-Pacific

Fiji New Zealand Samoa Tonga

Notes: In the Asia-Pacific region, most countries do not observe DST. Notable exceptions include New Zealand and several Pacific island nations. Most of East Asia (including China, Japan, South Korea) does not observe DST. Countries that previously observed DST but have since abolished it include Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

Africa

Morocco

Notes: Morocco is currently the only African country that regularly observes DST, though its schedule can be adjusted for Ramadan. Egypt has used DST inconsistently over the years but has not observed it recently. Most of Africa has never implemented DST, partly due to its proximity to the equator where seasonal daylight variations are minimal.

Countries That Have Abolished DST

Russia (2014) Turkey (2016) China (1991) Japan (1951) India (Never adopted) Argentina (2010) Belarus (2011) Egypt (2015) Iceland (1968) Kazakhstan (2005) Kyrgyzstan (2005) Mongolia (2017) Namibia (2017) North Korea (2015) South Korea (1988) Tunisia (2009)

Notes: Many countries have abandoned DST in recent decades, either due to energy savings being less significant than anticipated, public dislike of the time changes, or geographical considerations. The years indicated represent when DST was last observed or officially abolished in each country.
